So, I have an indoor fireplace that I can’t currently utilize. But there are all sorts of things that I could do to dress it up!
Loving these ideas…

Placing ecclectic items inside the cavity.

Firewood! A pile of driftwood and seashells would be even better!

Books - I love this. Even lined up in a row would be nice.

Fireplace candelabra.

I need to make the following things for my apartment now that I’m getting all settled in…

This fabulous hairpin end table!

Pallet organizer for photos and necklaces.

This coffee table turned into a bench. It would be perfect for our walk in space!

Pallet shelving…

The perfect jewelry organizer.
Today, like most American families, we celebrated my mother. We ate, we drank, and were in undoubtedly good spirits. I really try to appreciate the time we get to spend together as a family since we’re all grown up and living apart from each other. As all of us like to cook and throw parties, our Mother’s Day mission was clear. What better way to enjoy each other than over breakfast and mimosas, celebrating a pretty great mom!
Here are some pictures from this morning.

One of my favorite scone recipes to bake - Five Fruit Granola Scones. They’re delicious and incredibly easy to bake. You can find the recipe here. We also decorated the table with some of these adorable place cards and mini-flags from the Oh, Happy Day blog. You can find the free PDF printable here.

Laura made these awesome centerpieces for the table. We found a really great how-to on making these from The CSI Project.

The full brunch spread: quiche, mixed berries, grapefruit, five-fruit granola scones, mimosas and french press coffee.

Mom was surprised - somehow all of us managed to keep our mouth’s shut about the brunch for an entire weekend!

Yeah.. they can still be pretty cute sometimes.

All of the Bohde girls - including our new puppy, Jody.

Love this idea for planters. Currently scouring thrift shops for an antique tea pot and cups to fill with flowers and use as a table top centerpiece.
